Illegal in Brazil

So yeah...the executive secretary here on our mission hasnt renewed my visa and today it finally did me a little wrong. We were having our pday as a staff with President and out of no where our friends Paula and Cristiano called us telling us they wanted to go to the registry to mark their marriage right then. Haha so we ran to the place and actually everything seemed to be going right (this is rare). It was only me and my companion to be the 2 witnesses to the marriage and I had my passport with me, but the guy realized that my visa was expired. So sadly, after a lot of running around we werent even able to mark the marriage date today😔. But it'll all work out tomorrow morning and we will bring another Brasilian elder with us to be the other witness. But dont worry, my visa is in the process of being renewed so theres only a small chance that I'll be deported from Brasil...😋

This week we had some great experiences like always. The most special, and one I certainly will remember for a long time, was going with President and Sister Ribeiro and a couple we are teaching to the Visitors Center here in São Paulo next to the temple. We focused a lot on eternal families and we were able to see some really awesome things in the visitors center. Afterwards, President went to work...lol (he's a stud missionary). Us 6 entered into a room to talk to them a little and President asked them what was missing for them to take the next steps and be baptized to be able to receive ALL the blessings of the gospel. The guy, Luis, pretty much said he was ready and was really liking the church a lot, but just would like that his wife would go with him. She has been a little harder to get to, but you could tell that she was also heavily impacted that night. We are really happy with this awesome couple and are looking forward to continue working with them. We ended the night in front of the temple. It was the dopest experience being able to be there with my president and this great couple. 

On this Easter weekend, I was able to reflect a lot about the Savior's atonement and how he was the only One able to wash away our sins. I remembered of a scripture in Mosiah 13 that says "And moreover, I say unto you, that salvation doth not come by the law alone; and were it not for the atonement, which God himself shall make for the sins and iniquities of his people, that they must unavoidably perish". It truly does show that our only path to life eternal is upon the path of the Lord Jesus Christ; having faith in him, repenting of our sins, being baptized by immersion, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring until the end. I know that it is only because of Him that we have this chance and Im forever grateful for His sacrifice and what it has done in my life. Its helped me feel forgiveness and return to His path time and time again.

Gurksnis, Grayson Robert Oi Presidente, tudo bem? Estou muito bem aqui no escritório. É realmente um privilégio de estar aqui trabalhando um pouco mais perto com o senhor. Sao Paulo North about to get iPhones!

Haha so the long wait here in South America may be coming to an end. My cellphone from 2002 is gonna get a little bit better soon! My mission was chosen to do a flight project of more advanced cell phones for missionaries here in South America like they have in the U.S, Canada, etc. Its very slow going and we will have very little access to things but its an exciting step that I know will help us to be more productive and effective and overall help edify even more the kingdom of God here on earth. This week we are really working with some elects. Sadly, Bruno didnt work out this Sunday, but we are still working with him to be baptized this next week. But I am super super excited about the rest of the people we are working with. Sara first of all is way firm for this Sunday. She has made a huge huge progress recently. Taking cold showers in 50 degree weather!

this week our hot water/electricity stopped working exactly in the coldest week of the year hahah. But its mission memories so I was all down for it. When you get really hyped up its not even that cold. Hahah sometimes in my prayers I just ask the Lord for experiences. I dont specify the kind of experiences I want, but I know the mission is all about experiences so I've been able to have all kinds of experiences while here in Brazil. Thats what I love so much about the mission is you really never know what your day is gonna be like and who you will end of meeting, etc.  This week our focus was marking a date with Aldair. He has already been to church 3 times and had already accepted baptism, but we werent able to mark a specific date with him. When we went there on Wednesday, he was super firm in wanting to be baptized on this next sunday the 15th. We feel that he really was an elect from the Lord. He's a 55 year old man, he doesnt smoke, doesnt drink, doesnt drink coffee, ...
