Baptismo of Paula!

So this week was a great one. The baptism went through with Paula! She actually already knew 2 people in our ward already so it was great to watch her be integrated in our ward. We're gonna get her involved with institute, church dances, etc. and I wont even be worried. Shes gonna stay super firm and I'm excited to see how the gospel will continue to change her life. 

There were lots of other cool things that have happened this week. We saw some awesome things happen, people that may not end up making the choice to be baptized, but were nonetheless affected by our messages. Here are 2.
1- So we are teaching 2 people on the same street. They practically are neighbors. And one of them told us that the other one had out of no where decided to stop drinking cause she realized the bad it was doing for her body. I felt so proud in that moment knowing that she had made changes in her life that will help her be more in touch with the spirit. 
2- One night we were knocking doors and looking for a new street to start. We were deciding between 2 streets and something really special happened when we arrived at the first door of the street we had picked. There was a mom who let us in to teach and we knew there were other people in the house, so we asked her if she would invite them to come and participate in the lesson. She brought her 19 year old daughter down and said to her "I know God does nothing as just a coincidence, and I believe these young men were sent here to help you through a difficult time in your life." Turns out her daughter had been at the psychiatrist the night before because she was having suicidal thoughts. We felt like we were really guided there to help her to know that she has a loving Father in Heaven who cares for her so much. We taught the Plan of Salvation and focused on the Atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ and how he suffered for all our sins, pains, sadnesses, etc. It was a great lesson and I feel like she really went to bed that night a lot better than the night before because of the message we were able to take to her. She is travelling this next week, but we have already planned to go back and teach them again!

One more experience that was really awesome from last night:
We were once again knocking doors (lol) in a new area we found, but a whole street had gone bad. We werent able to find anyone to teach. As we approached the last 2 doors, I just thought in my head "Lord, please help us find at least one family on this street to teach." We knocked the last 2 doors and...nothing. We were walking back and we remembered of a house we had knocked earlier. There were 3 little kids who answered and they just said there parents were at the grocery store, but to come back. We decided to go back and there was a FAMILY OF 5 waiting for us! We went in and taught mom, dad, and 3 kids. It was AWESOME! They are super great and have showed desire to go to church this week to learn more. We are excited to work with them and I am grateful that the Lord is providing us with miracles in this work. 

P.S. Paula and Cristiano have decided to get married!!!! More details next week....

Gurksnis, Grayson Robert Oi Presidente, tudo bem? Estou muito bem aqui no escritório. É realmente um privilégio de estar aqui trabalhando um pouco mais perto com o senhor. Sao Paulo North about to get iPhones!

Haha so the long wait here in South America may be coming to an end. My cellphone from 2002 is gonna get a little bit better soon! My mission was chosen to do a flight project of more advanced cell phones for missionaries here in South America like they have in the U.S, Canada, etc. Its very slow going and we will have very little access to things but its an exciting step that I know will help us to be more productive and effective and overall help edify even more the kingdom of God here on earth. This week we are really working with some elects. Sadly, Bruno didnt work out this Sunday, but we are still working with him to be baptized this next week. But I am super super excited about the rest of the people we are working with. Sara first of all is way firm for this Sunday. She has made a huge huge progress recently. Taking cold showers in 50 degree weather!

this week our hot water/electricity stopped working exactly in the coldest week of the year hahah. But its mission memories so I was all down for it. When you get really hyped up its not even that cold. Hahah sometimes in my prayers I just ask the Lord for experiences. I dont specify the kind of experiences I want, but I know the mission is all about experiences so I've been able to have all kinds of experiences while here in Brazil. Thats what I love so much about the mission is you really never know what your day is gonna be like and who you will end of meeting, etc.  This week our focus was marking a date with Aldair. He has already been to church 3 times and had already accepted baptism, but we werent able to mark a specific date with him. When we went there on Wednesday, he was super firm in wanting to be baptized on this next sunday the 15th. We feel that he really was an elect from the Lord. He's a 55 year old man, he doesnt smoke, doesnt drink, doesnt drink coffee, ...
