We Tried an Open House

In our ward there is us 2 and also another companionship of sisters, and this week we decided we would all stand in front of the chapel (its on a pretty main road) and literally invite EVERYONE who walked by to enter in and see how the church is. Almost everyone here in Brazil has heard of our church along with many crazy things they think that we do, so we knew if we could people inside the chapel to see how beautiful and Christ centered it is, they would have a better idea of it all. It actually went way better than I thought. We were able to do tours with lots of people. The sisters were even able to mark a baptismal date. We met some great people who are interested in getting to know the church a little better. 

We also went to the church headquarters here in São Paulo for a day for a training with a financial analyst from the church. It was way cool and we were right next to the temple and the new visitors center. And of course, we ate really well at the bbq place next to the temple😋. It was such a cool experience to go there. It was good to get out of the routine a little and do something cool and fun. 

We are also hearing some crazy rumors here on the mission about changes for missionaries that are coming up😂 Im just excited for conference and to hear from a modern prophet and his 12 apostles. I know they receive revelation for our days in the same form that the prophets of old received for their days. And I know that this church is still guided by Jesus Christ and he uses his mouthpiece (prophets/apostles) to warn us and help us. What an opportunity it is to be able to hear from them every 6 months.

Gurksnis, Grayson Robert Oi Presidente, tudo bem? Estou muito bem aqui no escritório. É realmente um privilégio de estar aqui trabalhando um pouco mais perto com o senhor. Sao Paulo North about to get iPhones!

Haha so the long wait here in South America may be coming to an end. My cellphone from 2002 is gonna get a little bit better soon! My mission was chosen to do a flight project of more advanced cell phones for missionaries here in South America like they have in the U.S, Canada, etc. Its very slow going and we will have very little access to things but its an exciting step that I know will help us to be more productive and effective and overall help edify even more the kingdom of God here on earth. This week we are really working with some elects. Sadly, Bruno didnt work out this Sunday, but we are still working with him to be baptized this next week. But I am super super excited about the rest of the people we are working with. Sara first of all is way firm for this Sunday. She has made a huge huge progress recently. The Lord prepares his elects for this work!! Baptism of Gilmara and Aline!!

What a week! The crazyness hasnt stopped and i dont think it will. But my first real week here in Perus was great. We baptized Gilmara and Aline yesterday! I cant describe the feelings i have when i see the happiness on the faces of people who are coming unto Christ. The baptism was definitely a memorable one.  Also I have an incredible experience from a splits I went on this week with another missionary in a sick area here on the mission. Its one of the missions literally in the mountains and forest. It reminds me of Colorado and made me miss my Jeep lol. But in the morning we were going after a few addresses of people that were contacted a while back. We werent having any success and I was feeling a little down and questioning why we were going after these people, but i went anyway.
