Baptism of Lucia
Well this weekend ended in the happiest way because we baptized Lúcia! She is a super sweet older lady who has an incredible story really. She came to our English class and was convinced that she needed to visit our church on Sunday. When she came, she said she was better recepted than in any other place and that she felt a strong presence of the Holy Ghost there. She was baptized and is super well integrated in the ward with the other irmãs in the Relief Society.
Other than that really bright spot, we had lots of difficulties this week. We just seemed to get out of our groove a little bit and had trouble teaching lots of people. Saturday was a difficult day for sure and I was just feeling down with our work. But on Sunday we were really blessed. We brought 11 PEOPLE to church! Idk how it happened but o Senhor abençoou. It was pretty awesome to see all them happy and enjoying the meetings. After a few tough days, we still saw the Lord´s hand in our work. We have 4 brothers/sisters/cousins (its a huge family lol) that are all wanting to be baptized next week. They all loved church and were able to see the baptism of Lúcia and became really excited. We have lots of options and I dont really know what will end up happening. But I'm gonna give my all this week and hopefully come back with good news!
Me and my comp have seen a BIG need in our ward. Sometimes we get really caught up in our investigators, but our ward is really in need as well. We are gonna start to really ask a lot of these members with our work. We are hoping that with them helping us out a ton, they will find a new happiness like most missionaries find to bring the gospel to others and end up being happier and more strong in the gospel themselves. Hoping we can bring lots of new people to this ward and this church, but at the same time strengthen the members that we already have here in Parada Pinto.
Yesterday was a cool experience. We had the bestttt lunch ever with some awesome members and it literally POURED rain for like 3 hours after lunch. We sat and talked with them for a while, but then I had the idea to have a scripture study with all them. We studied Alma 31 together and just went around talking about what we had learned. It was a really cool, simple experience. The spirit was strong and everyone was happy. In the end of the chapter, it talks about how the people werent faced with anything that they couldnt overcome through joy in Christ. I know joy in Christ and his work and his commandments is the strongest resource we have and I know we will fare much better in the storms of life with this joy.
Love you all! Know that I'm great and working super hard and loving this work.
