Next Stop... Brazil!

Wow I actually leave for Brazil monday morning! There has been a lot of build up but it is finally here. I have loved the MTC and the many experiences it has given me. I've learned and grown in so many ways. I definitely feel like I could use another week or two practicing the language, but obviously I can't expect to be any sort of expert after 6 weeks. Can't wait to find out about my first area and companion!

I had the awesome thought this week of how simple what I am doing is. Our church's message is so straightforward. Come unto Christ. Have faith in Him and pray and read with real intent, and you can have the immense happiness the gospel brings people. I didn't come here to learn the secrets or the "tricks" of missionary work. I know if I work hard and rely on Heavenly Father, he will work through me to get to the people of Brazil.

Ok so my pics are of Irmao Regehr and Irmao Nickell. These guys have seriously been heroes for me. They both served in Brazil and tell me about their missions and how much they loved it. They have strengthened my testimony so much and they have made me so excited to have similar experiences coming up. 
Also another one of the boys on Pizza Sexta-Feira. Can't wait to send pics of Brazil next week!

BTW seriously go listen to this song! Not being able to listen to worldly music sometimes is rough, but we found this song on lds.org and for real it is soooo good. This family could be famous. The guy at 2:10 is incredible. Plus, its a remix type thing to my favorite hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour."

Sao Paulo North about to get iPhones!

Haha so the long wait here in South America may be coming to an end. My cellphone from 2002 is gonna get a little bit better soon! My mission was chosen to do a flight project of more advanced cell phones for missionaries here in South America like they have in the U.S, Canada, etc. Its very slow going and we will have very little access to things but its an exciting step that I know will help us to be more productive and effective and overall help edify even more the kingdom of God here on earth. This week we are really working with some elects. Sadly, Bruno didnt work out this Sunday, but we are still working with him to be baptized this next week. But I am super super excited about the rest of the people we are working with. Sara first of all is way firm for this Sunday. She has made a huge huge progress recently. Taking cold showers in 50 degree weather!

this week our hot water/electricity stopped working exactly in the coldest week of the year hahah. But its mission memories so I was all down for it. When you get really hyped up its not even that cold. Hahah sometimes in my prayers I just ask the Lord for experiences. I dont specify the kind of experiences I want, but I know the mission is all about experiences so I've been able to have all kinds of experiences while here in Brazil. Thats what I love so much about the mission is you really never know what your day is gonna be like and who you will end of meeting, etc.  This week our focus was marking a date with Aldair. He has already been to church 3 times and had already accepted baptism, but we werent able to mark a specific date with him. When we went there on Wednesday, he was super firm in wanting to be baptized on this next sunday the 15th. We feel that he really was an elect from the Lord. He's a 55 year old man, he doesnt smoke, doesnt drink, doesnt drink coffee, ...
